I have been using the services of Damon as a personal trainer for 12 months - on and off! It has been a journey for me, and Damon has been a great support. I first came to Damon at one of my lowest times of health and didn’t feel great about myself in any way. After my assessment, where the readings were quite dire, I found myself very upset, and I won't forget what Damon said, "well...it will never be this bad again...” His gentle nature has enabled me to work up to a much greater level of fitness, self-awareness and health. There has never been criticism, only encouragement. In addition, his knowledge of foods and minerals/herbs that will provide optimum health have proven to be of enormous value and most beneficial to me.

I am/was an overweight butcher who spends time between two countries {NZ & the UK} and as such maintaining a consistent training regime can be challenging. Over the past few years I have had several different trainers working with me on improving my fitness and although I consider that they have all been beneficial to my improved health, my current trainer, Damon Baragwanath has created and established a much greater understanding within myself. As such my training has become far more fulfilling and rewarding than I ever thought was possible.
Damon has been instrumental in facilitating change and awareness across three key areas;
1. As an educator and trainer and in his ability to communicate and facilitate awareness and understanding of health and wellbeing.
2. Through his understanding and awareness of the human bodies needs such as water/hydration, diet and detox

During the initial consultation and subsequent consultations he covered all areas of health from diet and detox to hydration {cutting back on coffee}, sleep patterns, Stress, cardio/endurance {indoors and outdoors}, flexibility, Balance, strength and core strength.
I have had chronic constipation most of my life and so a detox program was recommended to be undertaken as soon as possible. Although I found the prospect daunting {this was my first detox program} Damon clearly understood the benefits and outlined the program to me in such a way that, ‘made sense’ so I decided to give it a go.
The detox was an important part of the equation and with Damons guidance was much easier and more beneficial then I imagined. And I haven’t looked back since.

I have been working with Damon now for several months in order to strengthen my knees and core region. Damon is a confident, experienced trainer who has provided me with an excellent rehabilitation program as I have recently had to have two separate knee surgical procedures.
My core strength and flexibility have improved to the extent that I feel confident in doing advanced exercises.
I will continue doing my training with Damon as I am extremely satisfied with the programs he tailors for me.
My goal is to eventually get back to mountain climbing and to be extremely fit and strong as I enter into my sixtieth year, this year.
Who knows, maybe knees willing, I may reach my goal of being New Zealand’s oldest women to climb Mt Everest. I use Everest as my prime motivation for giving my best at each training session Damon sets for me.

I would like to highly recommend, Damon Baragwanath as a personal instructor if you ever think of joining the gym or to have him visit your home for a weight loss or fitness program he has done wonders for me. I was about to give up the gym then I met Damon when I was doing a workout, he gave me some good advice and I tried his tips, I felt like my back was starting to get better, I have had a bad back for years. I decided to have Damon as a personal trainer, I wish I had him a long time ago both my back and my whole body is feeling more flexible and fitter thanks to Damon.

Working out with Damon was never dull. I had no idea that he would be able to find so many different activities to challenge me, boost my enthusiasm and hold my interest.
I always finished our sessions exhausted but also exhilarate and looked forward to our next session with intrigue, as I never knew what he would come up with next. Would it be cycling or walking which always included some other form of exercise like pull-ups on trees or push-ups on rocks - very back to basics! Or would we be down at the beach, swimming in the sea with some added resistance training or Kayaking down at Matiatia. Whatever the activity it was always enjoyable and fun but more than that it worked.
I now have the get-up and go… to get out and about and continue to exercise on my own.
